Le souffle des mots
Make a square breathe. Breathing light, the rectangle parallelepiped is illuminated to show the rhythm, amplitude and frequency of this breathing (fast, slow, calm, deep, gasping,…) and show the emotional state of the square. This condition changes depending on how those passing by respond to the question, “If YOU don’t exist, then who am I?". The replies, sent by mail, are analysed by an algorithm which can be used to decide one of the emotional conditions of the square. If the dominant mood is anxiety, then breathing is in crisis: suffocating. If joy and plenty are stronger, then the breathing is calmer and fuller. The Nuit Blanche audience will be directly involved in creating this project. There will be a computer in the square on which passers-by can write their replies and e-mail them. They can also talk with the project team here. Residents are also invited to take part at home or via their smartphone straight from the street: if@publicbox.org.

A collaboration of Isabelle Bonté, plastic-artist, Annie Leuridan, light-artist, and Serge Hoffman. With the help of Jean-Luc Goossens, stage manager, and Xavier Lauwers. Participation of Johanne Riss Styliste, with Helena Chambon (she will present her creation in the showcase of the stylist : 35 place du Nouveau Marché aux Grains).
