Akousmaflore
is a hanging garden composed of living musical plants, responsive to human gestures and to gentle contact. Each plant responds with a different sound when touched or caressed by the spectators. Plants are natural sensors and are sensitive to various energy flows. Our invisible electrical aura acts upon the plants and encourages them to react. Even slight movements under the garden bring changes in the sound texture. Together, plants and spectators produce a unique musical universe. This interactive installation is a hybrid between nature and technology, bridging the gap between two seemingly extremes.
The artist couple Scenocosme (www.scenocosme.com) challenges the senses through sensitive creations, inviting the spectators to occupy the centre of interactive, often collective performances. Distilling dream-like poetry out of digital technology, they place it next to the real and natural. Their works offer moments of encounter and exchange and immerse the spectators in sensory experiments which make visible and even question the energy relations with our environment. Scenocosme’s work has been exhibited in a number of festivals and biennials across the world.
